WHY WE STARTED OGO
Football has always been a huge part of my life. Growing up, I attended sessions very similar to the ones Open Goal Opportunities aims to provide today.
Those sessions gave me confidence, friendships and somewhere positive to focus my energy during difficult times. However, I also remember how expensive football could be. Between session fees, equipment, boots and travel, it often put pressure on my family and there were times when playing wasn't easy because of the cost.
Even now as an adult, I still pay every week to play football with my friends. While roughly £5, £10 a session may not seem like a lot, those costs quickly add up for many families.
That's why I created Open Goal Opportunities – to remove financial barriers and make sure every child has the chance to enjoy football, build confidence, make friends and create lasting memories, regardless of their circumstances.

We understand that the cost of football can be a barrier for many families. From coaching fees and equipment to travel and kit, these costs can prevent children from taking part in the sport that they love.
Our mission is to provide free football opportunities helping children build confidence, make friends, stay active and develop valuable life skills in a safe positive environment.
